The 2009 Top Ten mobiThinkers

This essential resource profiles in depth ten pioneers from the most successful brands, publishers and agencies in mobile Web marketing – it’s packed with innovative campaigns, helpful tips and insights from across the globe

Meet the ten most influential people in mobile Web marketing. Without them, the mobile Web wouldn't be what it is today.

How did we do it?

mobiThinking invited the people we respect most to nominate their mobile-marketing heroes. With the caliber of nominees so high (and numerous), establishing the Top Ten was a near insurmountable, though rewarding task, involving considerable research, consultation, deliberation and argument.

Why did we compile the list?

  • To celebrate success
  • To give credit where it's due
  • To share best practice
  • To evangelize
  • To incite debate...

So download the Top Ten. Share your views with us. But most of all, congratulate the winners - they deserve it!

That's great where is the mobiDoers list?

I'm sure every reader will be able to name individuals they think have been overlooked; that is the nature of such lists. But personally I think this list makes a great start. On a professional basis I would point out that it is not entirely coincidental that 8 of the 10 are also MMA members and are committed to growing the whole market, not just their own sector.

Well done MobiThinking for recognising the contribution of these 10 and for starting the debate.

Good point, I could not agree more.

It is a very good list. Nokia especially are doing very interesting things in emerging markets, too. Would also be interested to learn more about those responsible for the most successful apps...

LOL ... "mobiDOERS" - very tounge-in-cheeky of you but also a good question.

It's only the first inning of the mobile web game and there are already a lot of "MobiDOERS" ... launching .mobi websites every day ... including small, medium, and large sized businesses as well as organizations and individuals.

Here's a very visual list of some of the more recognizable companies using a .mobi name:

Recognize any of the names?

I agree...Its really good thing to appreciate and give credit to the people.I am also a great admirer of Nokia. They are always at the front to introduce innovative ideas.

Thanks. People deserve a thanks for their work

It is about time that more of the population gets a hold of the idea of mobile and pushes some kind of standardization so we can get more mobile out there. I am so happy that the Iphone and Android are pushes us all forward.

I'm only new to the .mobi way of thinking and I really love what you guys are about.

You'll be glad to know I'm about to put up a .mobi version of our site within the next few days
